The ones who are fond of playing video games are likely to know about “Steam”, one of the well-known gaming platforms across the world. It is a wide platform that provides the various genres of games and is listed at the top when it comes to downloading the new titles. Online players know the significance of taking a screenshot of the online activities of their screen as it is seen as one of the important sources of information for bragging rights and for bug reporting.
How to Find SteamID?
If you don’t know your “SteamID”, you can access it using the following steps :
Step 1 – Open your Steam client and click on View then choose Settings.
Step 2 – Go to Interface and find a box that reads “Display Steam URL address when available”. Click the ‘OK’ button.
Step 3 – Now, go to your Steam Profile and click View profile.
The number located at the end in the URL is your SteamID and you can use it to locate your saved pictures as explained below. To access Steam Screenshot Folder in any steam game, you can click a hotkey (default key is F12) or snap a screenshot of the current in-game. You can publish this screenshot in your Steam profile or you can upload it on other social media forums like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and many more. In case you face the problem to locate the pictures taken, there are two ways you can access these pictures :
- Access them via Screenshot Manager in steam, or
- Through hard drive storage.
Method 1: Screenshot Manager
You can use your Steam Client to view all the screenshots taken in-game using the Screenshot Manager. Open your “Steam Window”. On the upper left where all the dropdowns are located, click on View then select Screenshots.
Using the Screenshot Manager:
- You can upload the desired picture.
- You can access the screenshots directly through your hard drive by clicking [Show on Disk] button.
- There is also an option for deleting the specific screenshots permanently from your hard drive directly from here.
Method 2: Accessing the Screenshot Folder physically
Each user has its own Screenshots folder where all the screenshots taken in-game are saved physically. This folder is located where your steam is currently installed. The default location is in local disk C.
Path of the folder – C:\ Program Files (x86) \Steam\userdata\<yourSteamID>\760\remote\<app – ID>\Screenshots.
However, the path can vary depending upon where you have saved the screenshots but once you open the screenshots folder, you will see the pictures of the game. If you want to modify your screenshots destination folder, this can be done by following the steps below :
Step 1 – Delete the ‘Remote’ folder. The path of this folder is: C:\ Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\AccountID\760
Step 2 – After deleting this folder, you have to open a Command prompt for administration. Click the Search icon on the taskbar, type “Command Prompt” without quotes inside the Search box and right-click the Command prompts from the results and select Run as the administrator.
Step 3 – Run this command: mklink /D “C:\ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ userdata\ AccountID\760\remote” “XXX”, replace “XXX” with your preferred folder name.
